Un-traditional granny blanket

Used the "traditional granny blanket" crochet pattern on the Lion website, changing the colors to coordinate with pink and brown theme of the baby shower invitations. It was my first try at granny squares. I started out trying to work one whole square at a time, but found it much easier to make all the pieces at each step before moving on to the next step.
This is the finished piece during "blocking" (I forgot to take another photo before I gave it away)
