This toddler sized sweater is one that moms love. Because the sweater zips down the back, moms don't have to wrestle their little ones into a cardigan or pullover. Raglan sleeve shaping provides clean lines and is easy to wear. Because this garment was knit in one piece, the only seams are the sleeve seams. There are no bulky sleeve caps or side seams.
The chain cable and garter stitch border on the hood allow the fabric to draw in to keep the hood on the child's head. A chain stitch crocheted draw string is included if extra cinching is needed. It is easliy removed if mom desires. There are small tassels on the ends of the drawstring which mirror the tassel on the point of the hood.
The woven cable down the front of the sweater and braided cables down the center of each sleeve, provide extra warmth. The cabling stands out on a narrow margin of reverse stockinette stitch. The remainder of the garment is knitted in stockinette stitch. Ribbing at cuffs and around the bottom keeps chilly air off tummies and keeps wrists warm. Cuffs can be turned up if the sleeves are too long.
