Christening Set
Created By: Maria Cancro
Craft: crochet
Materials: Lion Brand Baby Soft in Cream, 2.25 balls
Pattern Source: other: 90073AD - Baby Christening Set
This was my first time doing a project like this, I am just learning to crochet so all the stitches were new to me. Fortunately, I checked the gauge first to discover that I was doing the little boxes stitch wrong but was able to correct myself upon re-reading the instructions carefully. I did the jacket first, chaining more stitches than called for in order to meet the required length. I paid more attention to the dimensions than to the number of stitches required and it turned out fine. After figuring out how to do crochet spirals from some internet research, I got the bonnet done overnight. The blanket took a long time and tended to narrow in width as it got longer, so I had to compensate with extra stitches at the ends of the rows. The baby booties I designed myself in an effort to put together a quick gift for a friend's baby. I plan to lace in some ribbons for bootie laces.
