Superman Afghan
Created By: Elizabeth Top
Pattern Source: other:
This project called for a lot of counting and patience. I found a picture of the superman logo and turned it into a graph. Each square on the graph was counted as 1 single crochet. I used worsted weight yarn, about 60 ounces Royal Blue, 14 ounces yellow, 14 ounces red and 7 ounces black with a G crochet hook. This finished afghan just about covered a double bed, and could be used as a bedspread on a single or twin bed. I faced the challenge of all the color changes and found it best to pin small balls of yarn in plastic bags of all the colors on one side of the afghan. This eliminated the bulk of carrying along colors and saved time in joining and weaving in ends for every color change. The ending, over all look was very smooth and uniform. I would be happy to share my graph and table of row instructions with anyone interested in making this fun afghan. My grandson was thrilled to get it as a gift.
