One-Skein Hat and Scarf Pattern #: 30144-C

The pattern is fairly simple. However, the directions for forming and sewing the hat should be written differently. After sewing side seams together, it says to "fold tube in half with seam at center". This is where the confusion begins. It should say "position tube with seam centered and stitch back to front at center point on top. Once I figured that out, I completed the hat without any further problems. I added loopy loops on the scarf for a fringed look. Also, I added a button in the center top of the hat. I believe this project should be made with a firmer yarn. I will make it again with a different yarn than homespun. Thank you, my friend will be wearing the set tonight.
