Sling
Created By: Laurel Heflin
Craft: crochet
Pattern Source: other:
A Co-Worker of mine recently broke her arm.
Slings have never been very fassionable.
When I broke my arm I sewed many different colored slings and became the center of attention.
My sewing machine is broken and I wanted to make her a sling she could wear and keep her warm, and still be able to wear it at work.
I casted 35 stitchs
made 10 rows on the bottom.
made 11 rows for back and both sides
I made the bottom first, then the back.
While making the sides I connected it to the back in a single stitch. then up another stitch to start the next line.
When finished making all 3 peices I Made a finnished edge all the way around the front and top to cover any bad stitches.
Across the back I added 10, then 9 then 8 then 7 then 6 then 5 made a whole for the sholder band to go through. then made it stronger by going back and forth over the stitchs.
Finished the connections to the bottom and sides by weaving a single strand through the edges to make them stand out.
Just add a sturdy strap with velcro and you have a warm styling sling.
