Carasan fall 2009
Created By: Terri Rosenthal
Pattern Source: other:
Hi, we are Carasan, a mother-daughter designs team based in Brooklyn, NY and Leesburg VA.
We have been using Lion Brand yarns since we started our very small design house, Carasan. We love the yearns. And as we are very small and all or our designs are hand knits that we do ourselves here in our studio in the states, we can't buy in in large amounts like the large companies do. We stated out company designing with Lion Brand yarns, that was in 2000 When Cassandra of Carasan started FIT.
We have had great press...but no one ever asked us who's yarn we use...it is Lion Brand mainly. Like us, it is an American company..and proud to be one.
So, that said...here are a few of our designs to share with you. Two are winter wedding suits made in of all things Hopespun. It was inspired by a friends outdoors wedding in the fall...out on the water. She was sooo cold in a regular silk dress. So we designed these for all of those winter brides that wanted something different.
Next is a hat, that is for this years fall-winter season. You can find it soon on Etsy or our own site:www.carasan.com. This hat in in a mix of Edwardian style and 20's mixed to our own blend.
And last is one of our first designs that landed in a magazine, "Sister to Sister". The images was taken from our look-book that season and to this day we still get orders for it. The skirt is Homespun and the lace sweater is Wool-Ease. We wanted our garments to be soft and washable.
We are hoping to come out next year with a pattern design book for all of those home knitters. We love feed back, so please drop us a line and let us know what you think at:

Have a great fall knitting...we hope that we inspire you to think out side of the box with these great yarns.
