Lion Halloween Costume.
Created By: Christina Flyntz
Pattern Source: other:

My granddaughter wanted to be a lion for Halloween last year. I made the body of the lion out of gold-colored fleece but I wanted to do something special for the mane. I used the pattern I found on the Lion Brand website for the "Wild, Wild Red Wig", but used four different kinds and colors of yarn in tans and golds and added ears made of fleece (I just hand sewed them to the "cap"). I used those same yarns for the end of the tail and I stitched them around the ends of the sleeves and the bottoms of the pants. The pom-poms for the mask were also made from one of the yarns in the wig. I wish I could remember exactly what yarns I used (last Halloween was a long time ago) but I know that one of them was a varigated Homespun in tans, rusts and browns.) She was quite a hit at her school and would make a good mascott for Lion Brand!
