Knitted with very thick 00 wooden needles, this can be made in no time. Start on 32 stitches and work all in garter stitch. Knit around 15cm length or desired length of skirt.
Decrease for waist: K2tog till end. Knit 4 stitches and leave on yarn or stitch holder. Knit 8 and leave the last 4 stitches on stitch holder or a piece of yarn.
Now knit the front centre piece: g stitch 8 rows. Knit 4 turn. knit 2 tog twice. Cast off.
Tie yarn to the remaining stitches. Knit 4, turn. Knit 2 tog twice. Cast off.
Sew up the skirt on wrong side. Turn inside out.
Pick up the stitches on knitting needle and knit back piece as front centre piece.
Turn inside out. Sew on wrong side. Sew up shoulders. Put a finger under shoulder seam to leave space for arms. Sew up sides.
Hat: Cast on 16 stitches. K 5 rows. K2 tog. till end. Fasten off tightly and join row ends. Fix hat to doll's head using left over yarn.
