I love this hat! It was my first hat project, and I really enjoyed it. The seed stitch gives it a great texture without being so complicated that you can't work on it while watching TV. My only suggestion... If you knit tightly like I do, I would go to 5 1/2" instead of 5" before starting the crown shaping in the pattern. It will definitely help with ear coverage on my next one.
