I made 4 (12,24month,2(4/5) and of the vests for christmas this year. I used a regular worsted weight yarn and added some length to the larger vests. I agree that the neck openings are way to small. I would even start a inch sooner. I made a 12 month and I was not able to make the neck large enough after 3 tries so I added on to the back of the bind off at the neck and added buttons. Overall, the vests were beautiful in the christmas pictures. My goal was to make 5 but it wasn't meant to be. My kids and my nephews are to cute in these pictures.
