A special afghan

I made this special Lapghan freeform crochet for a secure, invulnerable, tight weave, like the friend I made it for. He passed away while I was finishing the slip stitch edge of this piece, and now all the love I poured into it, I can feel when I wrap this around me. I designed it myself using only Lion Brand Homespun Regency(TM)and Williamsburg(TM), giving a painted effect. Two strands were held together throughout. One strand was all Regency and the other strand alternated between Regency (TM)and Williamsburg (TM). It took me eight months to finish this SINGLE STITCH because the intended recipient stated that he did not like work "with holes in it" The colors may be difficult to see but I can take another picture.
I made a larger version of this design with Regency, Green, Adirondack, and a red color (all Lion Brand TM. That one was exhibited during Art in The Park in August 2001. I have made a number of things with Woolease (TM), Terryspun (TM) and Homespun (TM) over the years.
