I made these roses based on the pattern available here at Lion Brand. These were among the first projects I attempted to do with yarn (since I always use crochet thread).
I was surprised at how lovely they turned out, considering that I used acrylic yarn. I also used variegated yarn for some, and they looked just like the "Happy Roses" that are sweeping Europe by storm. I added seed beads and other embellishments to some, to make them look dewy and fresh. =) I sewed these on to brooch pins and sold them for the benefit of an orphanage here in the Philippines. I always come back to this pattern whenever I need to embellish a plain project. Roses are such a crowd-pleaser!
I'm thinking of making more this coming Valentine's day... =)
