There are two things I really like about this pattern: it works up quickly (important when you are racing an impending birth!) and it is reversible. The front features a very attractive Hourglass design, but the reverse side also attractive and is similar to a basketweave (see photo). I usually tend to knit a little tight and have to switch to a larger needle but I found that I actually needed smaller needles to match the gauge for this project. It calls for size US 11 and I had to go down to a US 10. My blanket was done in Jiffy: Heather Blue.
The pattern was clear and easy to follow and I see no need for corrections. This would be a great beginner project for someone who has mastered the basic knit and purl stitches and is ready for a very simple lace.
