This was one of the most colorful things I have ever made. A friend requested a "Circus colored hat" with pom poms, and this was one of the patterns that I found, and eventually settled on. The measurements came out a little big, but that was probably because I used worsted weight yarn doubled up instead of a single strand of home spun.
The pom poms also didn't quite turn out the way they were described. They ended up being pretty humongous. I trimmed them down an inch or so, and they're still pretty large. And now I have rainbow lint everywhere! They don't hang perfectly, but it works.
The pictures really don't do justice to the insane brightness of the hat.
