A Warm Hug
Created By: Lori Nicholson

Several weeks ago I emailed you about my 90 year old mother who was about to go through radiation treatment for cancer on her tailbone. She has previously survived bladder cancer, breast cancer, a benign tumor on the lining of her brain and a couple of other problems. Before she became legally blind, she was an avid crocheter. She taught me when I was a teenager. Well, recently I inherited bags of yarn from a woman I did not know who had passed away. Knowing my mother really liked the softness of the Lion Brand Homespun which was among all the yarn, I crocheted her a prayer shawl. When I was finished, I could not find a prayer that really said what I wanted, so I took parts of different ones and created my own. I mailed it off to my mother who was deepely touched with teary eyes as my father read her my prayer. She loves the shawl!

I will continue to make shawls with the yarn and donate them to our local mountain hospital.
