Freestyle Cro/felting
Created By: C Cher
My “freestyle cro/felting” began three years ago when two of my friends, each doing different types of crocheting were showing their newest completed projects. One had just tried crochet felting (Molly) and other one, a free former (Jerry) so, at that very moment, my decision was, I needed to merge the two different forums together.
Well after several freeform attempts, it developed into a melted type of free forming. Since I was no longer doing different pieces and putting them together, (for the most part) it was my belief I was doing more of a freestyler method than free forming hence “freestyle cro/felting" seemed a superior description.
They are kindly called, "my ugly ducklings" as I am designing them because they look misshapen and the crochet stitches are juvenile. One needs to use their third eye to see what it will become, once felted.
I have so enjoyed the technique that I just cannot stop from attempting more and more designs, in fact, as I was walking out to the studio this morning I saw the most beautiful sunrise and was hoping that I had those exact colors of wool so I could capture it.
