Just learning how to knit!
Created By: Nancy Ward
I am 54 years old and have always loved cross-stitching. I read about prayer shawls and decided I wanted to learn to knit for two purposes: the first being, knitting prayer shawls, and the second, knitting sweaters to send to Guideposts Knit for Kids. My first 'project' was a prayer shawl for my brother, Steve, to take with him on a mission trip to Mozambique and to give it to whomever he felt led to give it to. He presented it to the Church they attended on Sunday morning and the Church was dedicating a baby that day and wrapped the baby in the prayer shawl!
Since then I have done another shawl for our Youth Mission team to take to New Orleans and a sweater for Knit for Kids. Several of us are now meeting together to share the individual projects we are working on PLUS we all work together on something to donate. Right now, we are making blocks to put together to make an afghan for a local shelter.
Thanks for your excellent website and good ideas for all of us!
Sincerely,
Nancy Ward
