Burial gowns and little boy sets
Created By: Hellen Norton
I crochet burial gowns. hats and booties for a nic-u in Oregon. My daughter is a RT there. They have a proffesional photo man that comes in, donates his time, gives a set of pictures to the family. They dress the litte ones and he touches up the photos so the parents have a rememberance of their little one.
I sent a few prayer shawls to my daughter along with a dozen outfits. I wasn't sure she would use them at the time. She told me of one little mother whose child was still-born at term and was 8-lbs. I had sent some little boy two piece sets and my daughter dressed him in those. When they came for the little one it was late at night. The family was not with this mother. My daughter put the prayer shawl around the mother and held her while she watched her baby leave.
My daughter said she was thankful to be there and the shawl was a great idea.
