Shawls of Love

The United Methodist Church in Perryville, Missouri has knitted or crocheted over 150 Prayer Shawls. This ministry began in the spring of 2005. We began with just two people knitting and crocheting the shawls. Now we have up to twelve each Tuesday evening. We begin with a short devotion, ask for prayers and joys, pray, then knit for about and hour and a half. We have made shawls for many different people: several children with cancer, parents expecting babies, the loss of loved ones, soldiers at war, and baptismal shawls. Each shawl has a laminated card designed for the Perryville Shawl Ministry that goes with each shawl. We enjoy our fellowship together as we create for the Glory of God.
