After a dream
Created By: Marcia Slater
After a dream of 2 unfamiliar elderly women talking in what seemed like Heaven about someone needed their arms around her, I knew had to make a prayer shawl for a friend who had lost her grandmother and mother a couple years ago. I used yarn left over from her grandmother and after pulling apart the first knitted one because it wasn't "right", started a crocheted one in the pineapple pattern though I do not like to crochet and had never done the pineapple pattern. Something just said this was the only one that was right. When I gave it to my friend 2 weeks later I told her it was not from me, but from her mother and grandmother who wanted to put their arms around her. I was just the instrument that made it. She was shocked and said that 2 weeks earlier she had prayed for a sign that her mother and grandmother were okay. When I explained why it was crocheted and why it was in the pineapple pattern, she cried and said her grandmother never knitted, only crocheted and the pineapple pattern was her absolute favorite pattern. This was the sign she prayed for.
