I made this afghan for my mom. She lives in a nursing home so I chose to knit it with an easy care yarn. It was important to me, even though I wanted and easy care yarn, that there would still be a wool content in the yarn, so it would keep mom warm when she needed it.
Wool-Ease seemed to fit the bill, and although it has much more acrylic content than I am used to, it worked up fine and the afghan turned out beautiful. So much for my yarn content snobbery ;)
The Lion Brand KAL was a good motivator. I would probably knit this again, but I would like to try it in Cotton-Ease this time, especially if I made it for myself.
