Whenever I find a new stitch for cotton, the best use of the time to find the gauge I have found is to make a dishcloth out of it. My family back in CT & MA love it as they benefit from my tests.
The pic attached is my first foray into double-knitting. When I came to the image of the puss, I used the front yarn on the "wrong" side, and the back yarn on the "right" side.
When my mom opened up her care package from me that week, her girlfriends were offering her $$ for my creations!
