I made this blanket for my husband's birthday. However, I did not use three strands of yarn I only used two strands and instead of using the yarn threwout the blanket I made the blanket longer and wider and changing the colors every two rows. As for the border I crocheted two borders with the fring I chained a chain for each of the fringes and made a fring of one color each.
