Tony's Afghan
Created By: MYKAL STEPHENS
This afghan is a self developed pattern. I kinda wanted to keep it "guy friendly" so I used red, black and white. I drew inspiration from a very old afghan that my grandmother has. I am fairly new to crochet (1 year experience) so i kept it to ripples and small granny squares to break up the simplicity of ripples. The singular challenge i faced was making half a granny square (the triangles on the side), but i think i pulled it off nicely. I call it Tony's Afghan cause i made it solely for my best friend Tony. It has kind of a Native American feel to it if different colors were used. I think the small granny squares and smaller tassles gave it some charm and a bit of complexity. It is my very first self-developed pattern. I am familiar with ripple pattern and granny square so after seeing my grandma's afghan, i decided to put my own spin on the theme. I hope to make more complex afghans and other pieces i can share soon
