My travel crochet story is not that exciting -...
Created By: Heather Connett
My travel crochet story is not that exciting - but I did want to share that it is a great way to pass the time in the car. I used to read, but my husband likes to chat while we drive - not the best combination. Crocheting, however, allows me to talk and listen, while still keeping my hands busy and accomplishing something. Last year, we drove from WV to Tybee Island, GA with an almost 5-yr-old, and 1-yr-old!!!! I was able to work on a blanket for my niece's soon-to-be-born son. I even worked on it during vacation, when both kids AND my husband crashed after long mornings of beach fun!!!
This year, on the same drive, I am working on an easy prayer shawl (from the free patterns on Lion Brand's website - thank you very much) with the Homespun yarn - it is my very favorite yarn.
I have found that working on my crochet projects has forced me to sit down and relax for a bit - it has been very therapeutic for me - vacation or no. It is very gratifying to work on, and complete gifts for others!
