Knitters and Crocheters Everywhere
Created By: Darlene Roberson

I love to travel by train and always take a small knitting or crochet project. On a recent trip to Milwaukee to visit relatives I met two very nice ladies who are knitters.

I was in the observation car watching the scenery and crocheting when a man walked by and saw me. He asked me if I knew how to knit. I told him I can knit and crochet, and had been since I was twelve years old. He said his wife was having problems and maybe I could help her, so he started back to get her. Well, she wasn't very far behind him and he raced up to her to tell her he'd found a knitter who could help! She was so pleased that she gave him a little peck on the lips and thanked him for looking out for her. We chatted about our projects: she was making a hooded sweater for a niece and I was working on a hat. I showed her how to increase stitches so she could get the sweater finished in time for giving to her niece. We had a great time talking and she is going to send me a copy of the pattern she was using. I also told her Lionbrand has great yarn and a great website for patterns.

I met another lady who was knitting on my journey home. She was more experienced and had made quite a few hats, shrugs and scarves.

It is so enjoyable for me to connect with others who craft. I lose all sense of shyness when I see other knitters and crocheters because I love to look at their creations! And they are never rude; they are always happy to share.
