I love to knit prayer shawls--most of them...
Created By: S Sybil
I love to knit prayer shawls--most of them have gone to women recovering from breast cancer surgery. I haven't met many of these ladies, but I find out through a mutual acquaintance what their favorite color is and knit one of the designs I've made or just knit 3, purl 3. I try to personalize the shawl for that particular person if I can; for example, if they are a cat lover (like me), I attach a cat button.
I knitted one of my shawls using Homespun while flying from Wisconsin to Colorado and return, driving many miles in Colorado, and from river bottom to practically mountaintop.
I used lavender and mint green colors on my latest shawl; I didn't have anyone particularly in mind, but I loved the color combination and do like to have an extra shawl on hand in case I learn of someone who might like one. Believe it or not, the lady to whom I gave it happens to be named Violet!
