I retired last year and my hubby and I purchased...
Created By: Anita Couts
I retired last year and my hubby and I purchased a travel trailer and decided to make our first trip out to visit our son and his family in Oregon. On the way I had to make myself a hat when the weather turned cold and snowy. I was not expecting snow in September!
Anyway, when we got to our son's house my granddaughter showed me a teddy bear that was wearing a hoodie and wanted to know if I could make her a sweater like it. I had never made a garmet except ponchos before, but I promised her I would give it a try. I hunted all over Portland for a pattern and finally found just the perfect one. We picked out some yarn and I began working. By the time we left I had finished one, begun another for her sister. I mailed them shortly after we returned home, and I had them sewn together. After that I was on a roll and used the same pattern to make camo hoodies for my 3 little grandsons.
My hesitation to begin working on these sweaters has turned into an ongoing project with my children and grandchildren all getting something from Grammy's hooks.
