For years we have driven across country on our summer vacations and I always take whatever project I am working on with me. My husband is a bit of a control freak and rarely lets me help with the driving so I watch the scenery and work on my current project, be it a baby afghan to give to someone expecting, or a prayer shawl or something to send to the troops. When a project is finished I make him stop at a Wal-Mart so I can get some yarn to start the next one. Knitting is a passion and it is a great way to while away the miles especially when we will travel 3,000 to 4,000 miles in a three week period. So it when it is gifted it has a story that goes with it. It is funny to pass the truckers because they will do a double take as we pass them by. I don't think it is something they see everyday. The recipients are always so pleased with their gifts because they know that they are made with love! Each project is planned for the person in mind. The colors and textures have to match the personality of the recipient and Lion Brand Homespun is one of my favorites because of the variety of colors available.
