Leftover yarn
Created By: Sharon Hull
I had boxes of left over yarn that I could not make up my mind on how to use it.One skein of different colors. One day I thought about the homeless people in Los Angeles, CA and the cold winters we had. I started knitting scarfs and completed 80 scarfs which I took to the Union Rescue mission in Los Angeles. I work full time so I would work on the scarfs in my spare time even when I would be at traffic signals I would knit being I didn't have to worry about special stitches it was no problem. I believe it took me 7-8 months to complete them as I did not knit every day. I am thinking of doing this again in the future but will take the scarfs to a different homeless shelter. I enjoyed doing this and knowing that someone that was in the cold had something that may cheer them up and help keep them a little warmer. I love to knit and it is very relaxing for me.
