Prayer Shawls

I knit or do some handcraft wile I ride as a passenger on trips. We have several elderly ladies at church and I am making each a prayer shawl. They bring them to church to place over their laps or around their shoulders for extra warmth, especially when the air conditioning is on full blast. I love to serve others and this one way I can help out the elderly. I learned to knit while I was in college sitting below an elderly lady, so that when you look at me knitting, I do look a bit funny, but my stitches come out just fine. Knitting is relaxing for me and takes up some of my excess energy and it is useful to others, as I give most of my handiwork away as gifts, or donations.
