Prayer Shawl
Created By: Doris Caco

I saw the prayer shawls on the Lion Brand site and read all the stories. I have a friend who is in a Cleveland hospital very critical. He has been in the hospital for 50 days now and just is not improving. I knitted my prayer shaw from a pattern on the site. When it was finished, I had it blessed by a priest who is a good friend and took it to his wife to take to the hospital the next morning. While we were sitting there talking, she had it on her lap and said to me, boy can I feel heat coming from the shawl. She then put part of it on my lap and I also felt the heat coming from the shawl, not warmth but heat. I then told her that I had that shawl on my lap for two weeks while knitting it and I never felt any heat from it. I know it was through the blessing of the shawl that we felt the heat. She had delivered it to her husband at the Cleveland hospital and I am praying that the shawl will bring healing to him. A group that I belong to called Knit Wits have been knitting prayer shawls for some time now.
