Our synagogue, Young Israel of Brookline, in conjunction with the new and innovative SABAH (Synagogue Alliance for Connecting Brookline Elders Living at Home) Program, is embarking on a Shawl Project. We are in our formative stage. We plan to create shawls for homebound persons in our community and for people obsreving the traditional Shivah week of mourning for loved ones. We believe that we are the first Orthodox Synagogue to haave a shawl program. We certainly hope that theese shawls will make a differenc in the lives of those who receive them.
