My Mother had fallen and broken her hip, only...
Created By: Karen Sanford
My Mother had fallen and broken her hip, only hours earlier Life was normal, she was 89 years old lived by herself cooked, cleaned etc. She was in the hospital for two weeks fighting for her life, during the time the ambulance picked her up and she got to the hospital she had a heart attack. During recovery for both she was found to have cancer, so in a matter of weeks she went from perfectly healthy to a nursing home then death finally took her at age 90 less than 6 months after the fall. To pass time visiting her in the nursing home I began knitting scarfs, then after she died in Feb 2007 I made a RED Prayer Shawl in memory of my Mother and for Heart Month since part of her illness was heart related and she died in heart awareness month. Each time I wear the shawl I feel my Mother hugging me. I thank my Great Aunt who taught me to knit daily!! It is a wonderful calming thing to do.
