I started participating in my Church's (St. Christopher's in Springfield, VA) prayer shawl ministry when my sister-in-law had cancer and my husband's cousin's daughter had been shot in the head. I've done eleven or more shawls since then. We knit, we bring them to church to be blessed and we give them away to those who are strengthened by the shawls. And the knitting strengthens the knitters as we patiently work through the challenges of our days as we knit our prayers for healing into shawls that share God's love.
