Our Prayer Shawl Ministry began two years ago and...
Created By: Sharon Andrews

Our Prayer Shawl Ministry began two years ago and is called "Prayers for Life" We have given close to a hundred shawls in these past two years. We give to the ill, the grieving, to comfort, at Baptism, at confirmation, plus our youth takes them to work camp with them to give to the families they are helping.

My favorite story was told by one of the work campers as she gave a shawl to the lady she was helping last summer. As she presented the shawl the lady began to cry and said "How did you know that is my favorite color?" The youth work camper also began to cry and told me that that was her "Jesus Sighting" for the day. They will be taking shawls with them again this summer as they head to another work camp. How can we not spread the love of God with the love of the shawls made by so many?

We have at least two blessing services a year and we have a lovely trunk to store our shawls in. The trunk was refinished and given in memory of the husband/father/grandfather of members of our shawl ministry. It is such a lovely addition to this ministry.
