Stitches of prayers
Created By: Gladious Stout

I learned to crochet at the age of 8. My cousin handed me a ball of yarn and said "have at it". Little does she know that to this day her words would touch SO many lives.

I have made all kinds of things from doilies to afghans to prayer shawls to dolls, bears and many things that would allow my prayers to be answered as they went to someone. As I stitch things, my prayers are going into those things I make. I love to crochet and give the gift that God has given to me.

My husband was in the Air Force and we were blessed to be stationed at many bases and even during those times, I was able to bless people with many prayer shawls. I have made several prayer shawls to wrap around those in need of healing or salvation or whatever the need may be. It is just a blessing to be able to crochet and share the gift that God has given.

Our daughter and her husband recently miscarried our first grandbaby and I made a big blue afghan for them both to sit and wrap around them and hug on each other and the prayers that went into that afghan gave us all peace knowing that our first grandchild is in God's hands.

Our church does not have a crochet group yet, but God has allowed me to bless so many others with His gift.
