Created By: Anita Scholtens
Our ministry stared 3 years ago by Pam Reilly our parish nurse. Since that time we have completed 200 shawls reaching people close by or as far as Africa. Then there are our "mini" shawls that have been used to give to each person going on a short term mission trip. These are about 2"x3" and carried in their pockets.
Our shawls have been used to comfort those during illness, surgery or death to celebrations of weddings, friendship and birthdays. I, myself, have made one for my daughter in law for her 30th birthday along with my granddaughter for her 2nd birthday. Once my daughter in law got them out to wrap up in I received a phone call from my 4 year old grandson asking if I would please make a prayer shawl for him. How could I refuse? Making the shawls not only is a blessing for those that receive it but for those that make them.
