My Angel Ann
Created By: Frances Onishi
I don't have a ministry. I am a recipient of a prayer shawl, which was given to me by Ann, who had gone to Ocean Springs, Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina had devastated the area. Ann and her friends were assigned to my brother's home in Ocean Springs. My brother was combating cancer so was unable to work with them while they repaired the floor in his kitchen and bathroom. He was very grateful and appreciative of the work they did to repair his home.
After Ann and her friends returned to their home in Reading, Penn, she wrote to my brother and sent him pictures she had taken while they worked on his house.
Unfortunately, my brother had passed away in May 2007, and Ann's letter was forwarded to me in Calif., where I live. I wrote to Ann, explaining my brother's death. She and I began to correspond with each other, learning that we have a lot in common: we both love to read, knit, and crochet. In Dec. I received a beatutiful red (my favorite color) prayer shwwl from Ann. We've become friends, and although we haven't met, we feel very close to each other. I am comforted by her love and friendship every time I wear her shawl. I hope I can meet her one day and thank her personally. I have made 2 prayer shawls for friends, and plan to make more.
