I had hear of prayer shawls but not until I attended Center Church in torrington, Ct. Did I undserstand the power of a shawl. That was a few years ago, since the I have made over 45 shawls. They have been given to men & women & families in joy & in sorrow.. I'm a mother of two children the the military. My daughter is presently on home leave from her tour of duty in Iraq. She is a mortuary affairs specialist with U.S. Army. I'm in charge of prayer shawls with Ct. Blue Star mother of America. Prayer Shawls are given to families of fallen heros of Connecticut. This movement of this shawl has touch some many-the power of strength on the greyish of days. The giving of a prayer shawl not only gives comfort to the person but also to the knitter.
