MY DARLING DAUGHTER
Created By: Sherrie Jarrett
I don't have a ministry but I still wanted to share with you the blessing that making a prayer shawl brings.
My sweet daughter who is married and has 3 children was going through a really hard time. She kept asking me to pray for her and of course, being her mom I did but I kept thinking about how I "throw" prayers up and really don't focus on my prayers.
I saw on your site a pattern for a prayer shawl and so I decided that since my daughter's birthday was coming and she was having such a hard time with life that I would make one for her.
Little did I know what a blessing it would be for ME! Every stitch I crocheted I prayed for Joy (my daughter) and it brought me so much pleasure and joy to ask for blessings on my daughter that it blessed my socks off!!! LOL It brought me closer to God and I got so that I was having wonderful conversations with my Maker that I never expected.
I kept thinking about everytime that this shawl would cover Joy's shoulders that it would be filled with prayers that were covering her too. Prayers of peace, comfort, courage, strength, good health even prayers to help her stay organized as her days came about. Before long I was praying for her children (my grandbabies) and her husband which I knew ultimately were prayers for her.
As I said, I don't have a "ministry" but then again aren't we all ministers of His love and can't we show it in so many ways. I want to thank you for your patterns of prayer shawls and tell you what joy it's been making my daughter's.
