I joined a prayer shawl ministry at Zion Lutheran...
Created By: Mary Beihl

I joined a prayer shawl ministry at Zion Lutheran church here in Fallbrook almost a year ago. They provided the yarn and pattern (a treble crochet to represent the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit) and a name of a lady in the church that was suffering from cancer.

I prayed for this person all the while crocheting even though I had never met her. Then I got to personally delivered the shawl to the lady a few months later and the wonderful feeling I got when she opened the package and wrapped it around her made me want to do lots more.

I made one for another church lady who was suffering from cancer. She didn't live in town but turns out her daughter was my neighbor down the street.

Then I purchased my own yarn and started making ones for people I personally knew who were in need of a shawl. My neighbor across the street was going thru chemo for bladder cancer so I made hers in 3 weeks. Now I'm working on one for another neighbor who has been suffering with pain in her feet for years.
