Prayer Shawls
Created By: ROBIN SALAI
I first saw the prayer shawl pattern book November 2007 when I was looking for a pattern for a blanket for a friend. I bought the book and enough yarn for a shawl. I looked to find a group in my area that made them and couldn't. So I started on my own making prayer shawls and giving them to people. In a way I believe God inspires me to give them to the people I give them to (if that makes sense). Since I started in November 2007, I have made and given away 21 prayer shawls. It feels so rewarding to give them away. I feel like I am actually making a difference. I think it does as much for me as it does to the recipients of the shawls. I am really thankful that I found the book of Prayer Shawls.
I spend my evenings maybe 2 hours a day crocheting and for me it is a welcome distraction from television. My advice would be to others that if you can't find a group in your area start your own. It is very rewarding and spiritual.
