The Sweetest words, Thank you Mary

I have a dear friend in a Nursing Home suffering from Alzheimers Disease. She no longer alks in sentences, jst a word here and there that doesn't really make much sense.
The other day I brought her a crochet prayer shawl I made and put it around her shoulders. She didn't seem to notice really, we sat and held hands and I taled about things we used to do and funny words we had for things that ade us laugh in better times.
When her husband came at the lunch hour, he is there every day to feed her, I decided I would leave.
I bent down to kiss her forehead and she said, " Thank you, Mary"
That made my day.
I started making shawls when I joined a knitting class at the Senior Center in my town. My problem was, I could knit and crochet a litle but couldn't understand directions. Our wonderful teacher
changed all that and I have been making all kinds of stuff. I must admit, not all of it perfect.
When I joined the class there were 4 of us. Now we are 9 or 10.
Most churches in town also have a prayer shawl ministry right now too.
It is such a worthwhile thing to do.
I have made 6 so far and enjoy every minute of it.
I crochet my shawls and it takes me about 3 hours to make one.
We meet every Tuesday and I try to have at least 1 shawl, sometimes 2, to hand in.
