Easing Her Pain
Created By: MARILYN STRIANO

Life isn't easy for any of us and then when we hear about people who are in constant severe pain we want to help ease their pain. This is the case for the wife of a friend of my husbands. Laura had a condition that made her suffer constantly with the most extreme pain. I wanted to help but didn't know how. Then I saw an article about the Prayer Shawl Ministry. I bought the book, yarn and started knitting one for her. Lion brand has such wonderful Homespun yarns that it was hard to choose which one to use. I finished the shawl and gave it to a very greatful Laura who had tears in her eyes. She is the most wonderful lady and I am glad to have had the chance to give her something to ease some of her discomfort. There is a spiritual feeling you get when you are knitting these shawls. I can't explain it but it's like your hands are being guided by a calming force. So there is a definite benefit from both knitting the shawl and then giving it away. I very much look forward to continuing with the Ministry. Laura has since lost her husband and I know my shawl and prayer have been put to use.
