Would you like to share a project that you have made from our yarns or
our patterns? Hundreds of thousands of people who care
about your favorite craft will see your work. Any submissions,
particularly original ones are welcome, as long as the project was

Our Prayer Shawl Ministry

I introduced the Prayer Shawl Ministry to Forest Hills United Methodist Church in 2007 after learning about the ministry from a friend.
This outreach ministry has touched many lives since it's beginning in June of 2007 and we have mailed Prayer Shawls all over the United States.
Each time we receive a letter from someone who has received one of our shawls it is heartwarming. It means so much to someone who is going through a difficult time, or serious illness. As one person wrote, "It is like having God's arms wrapped around me. It gives me strength and courage."
We have several volunteers making Prayer Shawls, but I work on them everyday. Since we began the ministry in June we have made and distributed 70 shawls.
I would encourage anyone interested in starting a Prayer Shawl Ministry to referemce your website or www.shawlministry.com. If time permits you can meet on a regular basis, or have a group of volunteers who work individually. This ministry is surely an example of sharing your faith in a tangible way.
