My Prayer Afghan ministry started with my mother-in-law receiving a flannel Prayer Afghan from my sister. My adult afghans are approximately 48 by 84. I wanted them to be big enough to comfortable cover a person. I'm still the only one in our church making them since I am the only knitter. It takes me around 60 hours to complete an afghan so I have requested that they go to people undergoing Chemo or are in Hospice, where the need is the greatest. I have probably made 4 dozen afghans since I started. The first receipent had been termed as terminal with about 6 months to live, that was 3 years ago and he is going strong now.
