During the summer of 2007, a great friend of mine...
Created By: Joyce A. Hutt
During the summer of 2007, a great friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since God has given me the gift of crocheting, knitting, and needlepoint, and after hearing about the Prayer Shawl Ministry from my parents' church in Upstate NY, I decided to research it and knit one for her. I prayed the prayer that the literature suggested and I gave her the shawl shortly after she was diagnosed and just after she started her first rounds of chemotherapy. She relayed to me that she was able to wrap herself in love and she felt the prayers that were offered on her behalf. Whenever she went to MD Anderson for treatments she was able to use the shawl as a blanket, pillow or whatever. After Christmas she relayed to her church family that the tumor was hardly visable, but she still needed surgery. She will continue to feel the prayers that were made on her behalf when each stitch was done. I am so glad that God has given me the gift of knitting, crocheting, and needlepoint that I can share with those that need a little touch of love. Joyce
