After 20 some odd years . . .
Created By: Paula Sorg

After 20 some odd years of not crocheting or knitting I picked up the needles again. I needed something to do while trying to lose weight. Well knitting and crocheting does the trick, after all you can't pick on snacks watching TV if you are knitting/crocheting. My grandmother taught me to knit when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I am a self taught crocheter.

Most of the items I make now are donated. I crochet chemo caps. Knit teddy bears for mission kids that a coworker helps out at and slippers for children and adults at the Ronald McDonald house in a neighboring town.

If I know anyone having a baby, I make a basket full of items from washclothes, hooded blankets to full baby layettes.

This week I am joining a crochet group that is just starting up. I have been informed that I have the most experience. Some don't know how to read a pattern and other never picked up a hook before. And still some think of only scarfs when you mention crochet, I was told to bring whatever I had to show them. Well they have a pleasant surprise coming when I show up with dishclothes, chemo caps, baby hats with curlie cues, sweaters, star afghans and my newest joy socks!!.

And by the way, I lost 50lbs and I have about that much in yarn stash.
